President receives credentials from Indonesian ambassador ‎

Diplomatic Correspondent: President Mohammed Shahabuddin today received credentials from the newly appointed resident ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Bangladesh, Ms. Listyowati, during a formal ceremony at Bangabhaban.

‎Welcoming the ambassador, the President praised the strong ties between Bangladesh and Indonesia and called on her to play a key role in further enhancing trade and economic relations for mutual benefit, an official at Bangabhaban told BSS.
‎Following the submission of her Letter of Credence, Ms. Listyowati held a brief meeting with the President, reaffirming Indonesia's commitment to strengthening bilateral relations across various fields. President Shahabuddin expressed hope that the partnership would expand further during her tenure.

‎The President emphasized the importance of collaboration between the private sectors of the two countries to seize investment opportunities.
‎
‎"Bangladesh offers significant investment potential for Indonesia in sectors such as agro-processing, light engineering, infrastructure development, and tourism," he noted.
‎
‎The President assured the ambassador of his full support in carrying out her mission in Bangladesh and in further consolidating the ties between the two nations, the Bangabhaban spokesperson added.

‎Secretaries and senior officials of the President's office were present at the ceremony.
‎
‎Upon her arrival, a contingent of the horse-mounted President Guard Regiment (PGR) accorded the ambassador a guard of honour. The national anthems of both countries were played, and the ambassador inspected the guard of honour.
