New AI Tools Arrive for YouTube Shorts

Information Technology Desk: YouTube has unveiled a suite of new artificial intelligence (AI) tools for Shorts creators. The features were announced on Tuesday (16 September) during the “Made on YouTube” event.

Among the key highlights is a specialized version of Google’s text-to-video model, Veo 3 Fast, which allows users to create videos in 480p resolution in less time. For the first time, this model can also generate audio along with the video.

The new AI features are initially available in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, with plans to expand access to other countries gradually.

New functionalities in Shorts include:

• Animation Tool: Enables users to animate still images and apply motion from one video to another image.

• Style Application: Allows creators to apply various artistic styles to videos, such as pop art or origami.

• Prompt-Based Characters and Props: Users can add new characters or objects to videos using only text instructions.

• Remix Tool: Converts specific video dialogues into soundtracks that can be used in other Shorts.

YouTube stated that these features will be gradually rolled out to all users over the coming months.
