Three-Tier Security Arrangements Implemented for DUCSU Elections

News Desk: The Rajshahi University Central Students' Union (RUCSU) election is scheduled to be held on 25 September at University of Rajshahi. A three-tier security arrangement has been put in place to ensure the smooth conduct of the polls.

Speaking to the media on Tuesday (16 September) morning, the university’s Proctor, Mahabubur Rahman, disclosed the security measures.

He said, “Around 1,500 members of the law enforcement agencies will be deployed to ensure a peaceful election. There will be strict security checks and scanner machines at every entry gate, and entry of outsiders will be completely prohibited.”

Meanwhile, candidates from various panels have been actively campaigning on campus since the morning, seeking votes with various promises to the electorate. Some are visiting students door to door to solicit support. However, a few vice-president (VP) candidates have accused their rivals of violating the electoral code of conduct.
