International Desk:In the past 24 hours, 47 Palestinians have died in the besieged Gaza Strip, raising the overall death toll since Israel’s offensive began in October 2023 to at least 64,803. Additionally, seven people have died of hunger in the same period.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported on Saturday (13 September) that 47 bodies were brought to hospitals and 205 people were injured in the latest attacks, bringing the total number of injured to 164,264. Many victims remain trapped under rubble or lying on streets, where rescue teams have been unable to reach them.
During attempts to deliver humanitarian aid in the last 24 hours, five Palestinians were killed and more than 26 were injured by Israeli forces. This brings the total number of Palestinians killed while collecting humanitarian assistance since the controversial Gaza Humanitarian Foundation operations began on 27 May to 2,484, with 18,117 injured.
Furthermore, seven Palestinians, including two children, have died from malnutrition and hunger over the past day. Since October 2023, the total deaths from hunger and famine have reached 420, including 145 children.
Since 2 March, Israeli authorities have completely closed all border crossings to Gaza, worsening the humanitarian crisis. The UN-supported Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) warned that famine was confirmed in northern Gaza in mid-August and is expected to spread to Deir al-Balah and Khan Yunus by the end of September.
