Dr. Shafiqur Rahman Visits Barrister Razzak’s Grave to Offer Prayers

News Desk: Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, paid respects at the grave of former Assistant Secretary General of the party, Barrister Abdur Razzaq.

On Thursday (May 8), after Fajr prayers, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman visited Barrister Razzaq’s grave at Azimpur Graveyard in the capital.

He was accompanied by a central executive council member and Ameer of Dhaka South City, Md. Nurul Islam Bulbul, a central Majlis-e-Shura member and Assistant Secretary of Dhaka South, Dr. Abdul Mannan, as well as Ameers, secretaries, and officials from Lalbagh, Chawkbazar, and neighboring thanas.

Following the grave visit, the Jamaat Ameer spoke to the media present.

He stated, If the justice behind the movement of 2024 is ensured, oppressive rulers will no longer return to power again and again in the future.

Expressing optimism, he added that central party leader ATM Azhar would also receive justice and eventually be freed to return to party leadership.

Regarding the party’s deregistration, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman commented, No other political party has faced the kind of persecution we have. He alleged that Jamaat leaders were executed by hanging and killed in jail.

He further urged legal professionals to uphold the ideals of Barrister Abdur Razzaq in ensuring justice against fascism.
