International Desk: Those interested in going to the holy hajj are urged to apply for a visa by 12 noon on Monday (May 5). Otherwise, the pilgrims will not be able to go to Hajj.
This was stated by the Ministry of Religion in a letter sent to the lead or coordinating agencies. According to the ministry, more than 10,000 pilgrims have not received visas so far.
Quoting a small message sent by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah at 12 noon today, the Ministry of Religion said that those pilgrims who have not yet filed a visa application with a passport, biometric, hotel or home, and flight information will be allowed to apply for a visa within the next 48 hours, i.e., 12 noon on May 5. It must be submitted on the NUSUK MASA platform.
The platform will then be closed. No further visa applications can be filed after closure. As a result, pilgrims whose visa applications are not filed within the specified period will not be able to perform Hajj this year.
Therefore, all the lead agencies concerned have been requested to apply for visas, including passport, biometric, hotel or home, and flight information, by 12 noon on Monday.
It is also said that if a visa application of a Hajj pilgrim is not filed by 12 noon on May 5 due to negligence of the Hajj agency, the responsibility will have to be borne by the lead agency concerned.
In addition, if any hajj pilgrims are unsure of their hajj due to their negligence, action will be taken against the Coordinating Agency or lead agency in accordance with the ‘Hajj and Umrah Management Act-2021’ and ‘Hajj and Umrah Management Rules-2022.’
The Hajj will be held in Saudi Arabia on June 5. The number of hajj agencies participating in Hajj activities is 70. The flight started on April 29. The last Hajj flight was on 31 May. The first return flight of Hajj pilgrims is on 10 June, and the last return flight is on 10 July.
A total of 87,100 pilgrims from Bangladesh will travel to Saudi Arabia to perform the Hajj. 5,200 people will perform Hajj in government and 81,900 in private.
A total of 22,203 pilgrims (including management members) have arrived in Saudi Arabia so far this year to perform the Hajj. Two pilgrims died.
