BNP will not accept proportional representation elections: Barrister Naushad Zamir

Panchagarh Correspondent: Barrister Naushad Zamir, International Affairs Secretary of BNP's National Executive Committee, has said that BNP will not accept proportional representation elections. He said that some are now talking about proportional representation elections. Professor Ali Riaz has proposed proportional representation elections. BNP's role or position in this regard is very clear. BNP does not want such elections.

He said these things at the Iftar Mahfil organized by BNP in Tentulia Upazila of Panchagarh on Saturday (March 22). Barrister Naushad Zamir further said that in the current context, BNP will not accept Bangladesh Nationalist Party. Because this proportional election means that you are trying to rehabilitate fascists and their friends. This is not acceptable for us. Nepal has tried to do a process. But their government has changed 9 times in two years. He further said that I am telling you strongly that today the leaders and workers of Bangladesh Nationalist Party are getting involved in various criminal activities. Those who are doing all these things today are not politicians. They are political crooks. If you are doing such criminal activities anywhere, resist them. Our party has to be saved from the hands of political crooks. Otherwise, our future is dark. You resist. Otherwise, let us know. We will take action. Again, I request you that you will not accept any of these political extortion, crooks, land grabbing. Resist. Don't make politics a business tool. Politics is not a business tool.

Rangpur Divisional Joint Organizing Secretary Abdul Khalek, Upazila BNP Member Secretary Rezaul Karim Shahin and others also spoke at the iftar program held under the chairmanship of Upazila BNP Convener Shahdat Hossain Ranju.
