News Desk: Chief Whip of the National Parliament Nurul Islam Moni has emphasized the importance of wealth in selecting the chairpersons of school managing committees. He said that those who have money will be appointed as school chairpersons because funds are needed to manage educational institutions and develop their infrastructure.
He made these remarks on Tuesday (October 19) while speaking at a consultation workshop on adolescent girls' health protection and the prevention of child marriage in his parliamentary constituency. Nurul Islam Moni was elected as a Member of Parliament from the Barguna-2 (Betagi, Bamna, and Patharghata) constituency as a BNP candidate.
Addressing the participants at the workshop, the Chief Whip presented an example. He said that a school would be established. There is a person who is uneducated but owns a lot of money and land. On the other hand, another person has secured first place in a master's program at the University of Dhaka but has neither land nor money.
Raising the question of who should become the school chairperson in such a situation, Nurul Islam Moni said that the person who has money would be appointed as the chairperson. This is because funds would be needed to purchase various essential materials for the school, including tin sheets, poles, books, roofing materials, and carpets.
Further emphasizing the importance of money, the Chief Whip said, "After Allah, the greatest power is money. Therefore, money holds great value. Those who have money are highly valued in society."
