Tentulia Correspondent: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is going to fulfill the dream of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Under the Asrayan-2 project, 142 families in Tentulia, Panchagarh are being given new houses of shelter as a gift of Mujibvars for the homeless who do not have land or houses. The new address of the expected dream is for these homeless people.

Those who do not have land and houses will be given these houses under the supervision of the local administration. These new houses are to be handed over to the homeless this month. According to the upazila administration, semi-finished houses are being constructed at the initial stage for homeless families who have no land and no houses in Tentulia, a northern border upazila, on the occasion of Mujib's centenary. New houses are being constructed at several places including Eidgah of Sadar Union, Ranchandi, Shalbahan, Magurmari, Raushanpur of Tirnihat Union, Kashimganj of Banglabandha Union, Jhalengi of Devnagar Union and Maniko of Buraburi Union.

These construction works of the shelter project are seen to be in progress. Officially, 1 lakh 61 thousand rupees has been allocated for the construction of each semi-finished house. Each pucca room has two rooms, kitchen, veranda, toilet. There is a tube well for every two families for drinking water. Meanwhile, a heroic freedom fighter named Abdul Malek of Ranchandi area has donated land for construction of 32 out of 142 houses. According to the upazila administration, the required amount of khas land suitable for building houses was not available in the upazila under the Asrayan-2 project.

On learning the matter, the heroic freedom fighter Abdul Malek offered to donate the land. He later donated one acre of his 10 acres of land to the government. A 32-room semi-kitchen is being constructed on his land for the landless and homeless. He has even donated his land to build roads to these newly built houses. Mazaharul Haque Pradhan, MP of Panchagarh-1 constituency and Tentulia Upazila administration have decided to name the shelter project 'Bir Muktijoddha Malek Nagar Guchhgram' in honor of the generosity of the heroic freedom fighter Abdul Malek.

On Tuesday afternoon, the construction work of 32 semi-finished houses was seen on 90 acres of land given by the Asrayan-2 project of Ranchi's heroic freedom fighter Abdul Malek. A group of women workers are working to build roads by cutting 15 acres of land to travel to their homes. Talking to the heroic freedom fighter Abdul Malek about giving land to the government to build houses for the homeless, he said, "I fought for the independence of the country at the risk of my life." I cherish Father of the Nation Bangabandhu and his ideals.

When the upazila administration was looking for land for Guchhgram but could not find it, I felt that I had something to do for the homeless. So I have donated more than one acre of land by myself. If it is a shelter for the homeless, with a smile on their face, that is my success. In this regard, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sohag Chandra Saha said, 142 families are getting new houses as a gift of the year of Mujib.

The houses are under construction. Hopefully, I will be able to hand over these houses built by the Asrayan project to the homeless this month. Another hope is that Abdul Malek, a heroic freedom fighter from Ranchandi area, has donated more than an acre of land to build houses for 32 homeless families out of 142 houses.

‘When we were looking for land to build houses for the landless and homeless, the heroic freedom fighter Abdul Malek told us that he would donate the land on his own initiative. We are really impressed by his generosity. His genuine love for Father of the Nation Bangabandhu and the country is really admirable. '
