International Desk: Just before the official opening of the Greatest Show on Earth 'Olympics', there was a major attack on France's rail network.

High-speed train lines were set on fire at several places in the dark on Thursday night. An attempt was made to destroy the train system. French rail authorities claim the damage is so extensive that it could take a week for train services to return to normal.

France's state rail operator SNCF said the entire rail system had suffered severe damage. It is a planned and organized attack. This attack crippled the entire railway system.

As a result of this attack, at least 8 lakh people will be affected. Meanwhile, the public has been advised to avoid traveling by train as much as possible. However, no details are yet known about who carried out such an attack and for what purpose. Olympics will be inaugurated on Friday.

Before that, however, the game has started in several events.  It is known that trains have been set on fire in several areas of France. Several trains and operational infrastructure were set on fire to completely paralyze the railway system.

This rampage was carried out in multiple areas at the same time in the dark of night. The three branches of French railways—Atlantic, Northern and Eastern—were reported to be heavily damaged.
