News Desk: General Secretary of Awami League and Minister of Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader said that the upcoming national parliament elections will be held according to the country's constitution and not on the advice of any outside power. He said, for BNP, fair election means that if Awami League is defeated, the election will be fair. By losing the election, Awami League has to prove that the election was free and fair. Regardless of the doubts, there will be free and fair elections in this country. According to some, the outline shown and no other force can influence the selection. The election will be according to the constitution and time.

Obaidul Quader said these things at a discussion meeting organized at ISKCON Swamibagh Ashram on the occasion of Sri Sri Jagannathdev's Rath Yatra Mahotsav at Swamibagh in the capital on Tuesday afternoon. General secretary of Awami League said that the next national election will be according to the constitution. So there is fear among some around the election. I want to say one thing... We have seen elections in our country in the past, whenever there was apprehension ahead of the elections, the brighter the morning came nearer. He said, we are not going to the elections considering anyone's visa policy, restrictions.

Our eyes are on the constitution, on the people of the country. Referring to India as a time-tested friend, Obaidul Quader said that the Prime Minister of India is going on a visit to the United States. It has nothing to do with the politics of Bangladesh. There are many issues in the world today, war, inflation, energy crisis. We have not discussed with India whether there will be any talk about Bangladesh here.

Nor have we sent any proposal to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to convince US President Joe Biden. He said, today the United States is going to apply the visa policy to make elections free and fair in Bangladesh. Whether or not the Prime Minister of India has anything to do as a democratic country is a matter for him from his point of view. It is not known that India has questioned or interfered with any elections in Bangladesh.
