Information Technology Desk: Meta began testing ads on Facebook Reels last year to allow creators to make money by creating and sharing engaging public Reels. Now that income path is easier. To speed up the expansion, the company is inviting thousands of new creators, including many creators who previously participated in Facebook's Reels Play bonus program, to join its updated test. The company will begin testing a similar program on Instagram in the coming weeks. Also developing the program is testing a new payout model. This model would pay creators based on the performance of their reels rather than paying them to advertise their public reels. This means that while optimizing the ad experience for advertisers and viewers,

How to earn : Initially the payout or payment will be determined based on the number of reels played. The better the creators' reels perform, the more creators can earn. Over time, payouts may also include other customer activities. Through this experimental system Meta finds that, Performance-based payouts work best to balance everyone's needs. Many variables beyond a creator's control traditionally affect their ad revenue. For example, how many ads have already been shown to the person viewing the creator's content or whether there are any relevant ads to show to that viewer. With a performance-based model, creators can focus on creating content that appeals to their audience and helps them grow, and advertisers get access to more ad inventory to reach more people, meaning they can advertise on more content. In addition, viewers also consistently see more content with relevant ads.

All creators who participated in the experiment will be automatically added to the new payout model, and creators who previously participated in the experiment of advertising on Facebook Reels will be added over the next few weeks. At the same time, Meta will begin testing advertising on Instagram with a similar performance-based payout model, among a small group of creators and advertisers in select markets. Additionally, the company also plans to start testing a performance-based payout model for in-stream advertising on Facebook. As the number of reels on both Facebook and Instagram grows rapidly, creators are flocking to Meta's platform to share all kinds of videos, and Meta is willing to help creators create all kinds of content.

How to participate : To be eligible to receive an invite to Facebook, creators must reside in one of 52 countries and meet several minimum requirements. Eligible creators who previously participated in Facebook's Reels Play Bonus program may receive invitations in the next few weeks, if they haven't already. When creators are added to the test, creators must complete the onboarding process to earn ad revenue on Reels, and this process includes accepting the terms of use and providing payment details. After that, they have to continue creating interesting reels to earn. To know whether a user is a part of this initial program on Facebook, he should visit the 'Monetization Tools' section of the Professional Dashboard. If he's invited, he'll see "Ads on Reels" and "Set Up" to start onboarding.

Different ways to earn :Meta is still in its infancy when it comes to advertising on Reels. The company aims to provide the best solutions for creators, advertisers and their apps at large. Besides, the results of these tests are continuously monitored. 'Ads on Facebook Reels' and 'Ads on Instagram Reels' are two of the many monetization tools that help creators of all types and levels earn a steady income on Facebook and Instagram. Eligible creators can also earn from fan support through subscriptions, stars and gifting, from brand partnerships through Meta's Creator Marketplace, and from Facebook through the Meta Performance Bonus Program for in-stream advertising. Visit Facebook for Creators and Instagram for Creators to learn more, verify eligibility, and start earning.
