International Desk: The Ukrainian army has claimed that the Russian forces have failed despite their best efforts to occupy the city of Bakhmut in the Donbas province of Ukraine. In addition, the situation there is now 'normal', the commander in chief of Ukraine, Velary Zhaluzhny, has claimed. At the beginning of this month, Western officials claimed that at least 20 to 30 thousand Russian soldiers were injured or killed in the occupation of Bakhmut.

Despite their fierce attacks, Ukrainian troops managed to hold their ground in Bakhmu with "extraordinary efforts". Having had no major successes on the battlefield in recent times, Russia is poised for a victory. Because of this, they wanted to occupy Bakhumat. However, according to Western analysts, Bakhmut's strategic importance is low. Capturing it would be a 'symbolic' victory for Russian forces. In a Facebook post about the latest situation in Bakhmut, Ukraine's Commander in Chief said, "The Bakhmut side is the most difficult for Ukraine on the war front... Due to the tremendous efforts of our troops, we are able to normalize the situation there.

Through this comment of the Chief of Staff of Ukraine, the idea of the latest situation of Bakhmut was obtained. Earlier on Thursday, Ukraine's ground army commander Oleksandr Saresky claimed that the Russian soldiers fighting in Bakhmu are "tired". He said that despite suffering heavy losses, Russia continues to try to occupy Bakhmut. By this their power is decreasing. This army commander also said that taking advantage of the fact that the strength of the Russian forces is reduced, they will soon launch a counterattack in Bakhmu.
