A woman complained to the Catalan police on January 2 of sexual harassment against Alves, who played for two seasons at the Spanish club Barcelona. 

Alves allegedly touched her without permission at a nightclub in Barcelona on December 30. A judicial investigation is underway in Spain against the former Barcelona star. After Alves went to the Barcelona police station yesterday morning to testify, the police detained him after questioning. Alves, who denied the allegations from the beginning, will now be taken to court.
