Bhangari Feriala's dead body recovered in Khansama

Salah Uddin Ahmed, Dinajpur : The local thana police recovered the dead body of a Bhangari Feriala named Ekramul Haque from a paddy field of Gwaldihi Union of Khansama Upazila of Dinajpur. They recovered his body on Sunday morning. Relatives believe that he was killed and the body left behind.

Ekramul Haque (56) is the son of Ghatu Mia of Telipara village of Gwaldihi Union No. 6 of Khansama Upazila. The deceased Ekramul used to travel to different villages of the upazila including Pulerhat to collect broken iron and sell food items in exchange. 

According to family sources, Ekramul Haque left the house last Saturday morning to collect junk. After ferrying to several villages, he left the van at Pulerhat market and went missing.  

Sawkhayat Hossain Liton, chairman of Gwaldihi Union Parishad, said that they believe the incident to be a murder. 

Investigation Officer Tawhidul Islam said, CID crime scene party has come and they are investigating. The body has been sent to Dinajpur M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital for post-mortem. 

Meanwhile, Additional Superintendent of Police of Birganj Circle Khodadad Suman, Incharge of Khansama Police Station Chitta Ranjan Roy, Investigation Officer Tawhidul Islam and CID Crime Scene Party visited the spot. They are conducting an investigation including collecting evidence to unravel the mystery of the death.
