Rajshahi Range inter-district football competition started in Bogra

Sanju Roy, Bogra: Like every year, the Bangladesh Police Rajshahi Range Inter-District Football Competition has started in Bogra in a lively manner. District Superintendent of Police Sudeep Kumar Chakraborty BPM officially inaugurated the competition by flying balloons, festoons and pigeons at Bogra Police Lines ground around 10:30 am on Wednesday. Last year's tournament champion Bogra district police team defeated the Sirajganj district police team by 7-0 in the opening match. Again on the same afternoon in another match, Pabna district police team secured their position for the next stage of the competition by defeating Chapainawabganj district police team by 1-0. Bogra District Superintendent of Police Sudip Kumar Chakraborty said during the inauguration of this competition held with 8 teams of Rajshahi division in the knockout system, after the stagnation of Corona last year, there was an awakening in the sports field of Bogra through this Rajshahi range football game. The essence of sports is to come together to do something good. He said that the policemen have to work as a team in all places in all environments. Therefore, this arrangement is to motivate and encourage them to fulfill their duties. This year, 8 teams will participate in the competition, including last year's champion Bogra, Sirajganj, Rajshahi, Chapainawabganj, Pabna, Joypurhat, Naogaon and RRF Rajshahi police football teams. He expressed the hope that this competition, which started very festively and lively from the beginning, will end with a positive frenzy. Bogra District Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Ops) Abdur Rashid, Additional Superintendent of Police (DSB) Motahar Hossain, Additional Superintendent of Police (Headquarters Circle and Media Spokesperson) Sharafat Islam, Additional Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Helena Akhter, Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police (Gabatli Circle) Niaz Mehdi, Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Noore Alam Siddiqui and District Sports Officer Masud Rana were present. Besides, referees of Bogra District Sports Association Momin Jewel, Shafiqul Islam Babu, Khan Abdullah and MA Liton were in charge of the football competition.
