Md. Noor Alam, Gopalpur (Tangail): Abdus Samad (72), a brave freedom fighter of Mandia village in Mirzapur union of Gopalpur upazila of Tangail, was buried in the family graveyard with national honours. He was given a guard of honor in the national status at North Mandia Government Primary School ground today, Tuesday at 11 am. Upazila Muktijoddha Sangsad Administrator and Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) were present at this time. Parvez Mallick, police station OC (Investigation) Mamun Bhuiyan, valiant freedom fighter Samarendra Nath Sarkar Bimal, valiant freedom fighter Abbas Ali and press club president Professor Zainal Abedin etc. He died last Monday at 12 midnight at his home due to complications. Brave freedom fighter Abdus Samad fought in Sector 11 in 1971. He left behind his wife and four sons when he passed away.
