News Desk: The first meeting of a special committee of the 13th National Parliament has been held with the aim of determining effective measures and formulating recommendations to address the country’s recent energy situation.
The meeting was held on Sunday (May 3) at the National Parliament Building and was chaired by the Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, Iqbal Hasan Mahmud.
State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Anindya Islam Amit, Whip A.B.M. Ashraf Uddin (Nizan), Whip Mia Nuruddin Ahammed Apu, Moinul Islam Khan, Md. Nurul Islam, Md. Abdul Baten, Md. Abul Hasnat (Hasnat Abdullah), and Mohammad Abul Hasan participated in the meeting.
At the beginning of the meeting, a presentation on the country’s overall energy situation was delivered on behalf of the ministry. It highlighted the existing crisis, challenges, and various measures taken by the government. The committee expressed satisfaction with these steps.
Additionally, various aspects of the ongoing energy situation were discussed and reviewed in detail during the meeting. Committee members provided their respective opinions and recommendations, which are expected to play an important role in determining future actions.
The meeting was attended by the Secretary of the Energy and Mineral Resources Division, the Secretary of the Bangladesh National Parliament Secretariat, and other relevant officials.
