President of India Extends National Day Greetings to Bangladesh

Diplomatic Correspondent: H.E. Smt. Droupadi Murmu, Hon’ble President of India, has extended warm greetings and felicitations to H.E. Mr. Mohammed Shahabuddin, President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, on the occasion of Bangladesh’s National Day.

In her message, President Murmu conveyed her wishes on behalf of the Government and the people of India, as well as on her own behalf, to the leadership and the friendly people of Bangladesh.

Highlighting the deep-rooted ties between the two nations, she noted that India and Bangladesh are bound by a shared history, rich cultural linkages, and enduring linguistic traditions that form the bedrock of their close partnership.

The President underscored the significant progress achieved over the years in advancing people-centric development across key sectors, including connectivity, trade, development partnership, power and energy, capacity building, and education. These collaborative efforts, she emphasized, have delivered tangible benefits to citizens on both sides of the border.

Reaffirming India’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations, President Murmu expressed India’s eagerness to work closely with Bangladesh to promote regional peace, stability, and prosperity.

She concluded her message by conveying her best wishes to the Government and the people of Bangladesh and by renewing assurances of her highest consideration.
