News Desk: Under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarek Rahman, a new Cabinet has been formed consisting of 25 ministers and 24 state ministers. Many first-time elected Members of Parliament (MPs) have been included in this new Cabinet. However, several senior BNP leaders, long recognized as influential figures in party politics, did not secure positions in the Cabinet.
On Tuesday afternoon (February 17), the swearing-in ceremony for the Prime Minister, ministers, and state ministers was held at the South Plaza of the National Parliament Building. Although the event generated significant interest among party workers, the omission of several heavyweight leaders from the announced list has sparked discussions in political circles.
The senior Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) leaders who were not included in the new Cabinet are: Standing Committee members Mirza Abbas, Abdul Moin Khan, Khandakar Mosharraf Hossain, Nazrul Islam Khan, Selima Rahman, Amanullah Aman, and Gayeshwar Chandra Roy.
Additionally, the party’s senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and Vice Chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu were also excluded from the Cabinet.
Among the leaders left out, except for Shamsuzzaman Dudu, Nazrul Islam Khan, and Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, all others have previously held key ministerial positions in past BNP governments. Their exclusion has led to various analyses and discussions within the political arena.
