5 million taka reward for capturing those involved in the shooting of Hadi: Home Affairs Advisor

The government has announced a reward of BDT 50 lakh (5 million Taka) for anyone who can apprehend the individuals involved in the attack and shooting of Sharif Osman Hadi, the spokesperson for Inquilab Mancha and a potential independent candidate for the Dhaka-8 constituency.

This information was conveyed today (Saturday, December 13) by Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, during a press conference held at the Secretariat following an emergency meeting of the Core Committee on Law and Order.

Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said, "I express deep sorrow over the attack on Osman Hadi. The government is viewing this matter with the highest importance. The law enforcement agencies have been instructed to immediately arrest those involved in this incident."

He added, "The government has announced a reward of BDT 50 lakh for anyone who can apprehend those involved in the shooting of Osman Hadi. We ask you all to pray for Osman Hadi. He is in a critical condition. By the grace of Allah, and with all our prayers, he may be able to return to us. For this, we urge everyone to pray."

The advisor warned that no one involved would be spared, stating, "We hope to be able to arrest the miscreants and bring them under the purview of the law in the quickest possible time. No one involved in this attack will be given any quarter. In this situation, we believe we will receive the full cooperation of the public."

'Government Will Arrange Hadi's Treatment Wherever Necessary, Even Abroad'

The Home Affairs Advisor stated, "We believe the attack on Osman Hadi is a malicious attempt to obstruct the upcoming National Parliament election. The Interim Government will severely suppress any attempt to obstruct or foil the election. The current Interim Government is committed to ensuring the security of the frontline warriors of the July Mass Uprising. Special security measures are being adopted for them by the government."

Noting that Operation Devil Hunt will be relaunched very soon, he said, "Law enforcement operations to recover looted and illegal weapons are ongoing. It has been decided to immediately launch Operation Devil Hunt Phase-Two to further strengthen and expedite the crackdown against the fascists."
