Political party leaders have stated that the attack on Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson for the Inqilab Moncho (Revolution Platform) and a potential independent candidate for the Dhaka-8 constituency, is part of a conspiracy to sabotage the July Uprising. They emphasized that political parties are united in their stand to thwart all attempts to undermine this uprising.

This commitment was made by the leaders of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, and National Citizens' Party (NCP) at a meeting held today at the state guest house Jamuna, led by Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus.

Attendees at the meeting included BNP Standing Committee members Salauddin Ahmed and Major (Retd.) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed Bir Bikrom; Jamaat Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar and Assistant Secretary General Advocate Ehsanul Mahbub Jubair; NCP Convener Nahid Islam and Chief Organizer for the Southern Region Hasnat Abdullah; Inqilab Moncho Member Secretary Abdullah Al Jaber; and Legal Adviser Asif Nazrul.

The Chief Adviser stated during the meeting that the attack on Osman Hadi was premeditated and part of a deep-seated conspiracy. He noted that a major force is working behind it.

He said the conspirators' objective is to prevent the election from taking place. "This attack is highly symbolic. They want to demonstrate their power and sabotage all election preparations. We must confront these challenges unitedly."

He added, "Based on the information available so far, it seems the conspirators have expanded their network. They have deployed trained shooters in the field."

BNP leader Salauddin Ahmed said, "In this situation, we must remain united. We must refrain from mutual blame. We must raise a united voice against the conspiracy. We will not tolerate any kind of evil force."

He further stated, "Regardless of any political disagreements we may have, for the sake of the nation and the July uprising, we must remain united." He advised intensifying efforts to recover illegal weapons and crack down on the conspirators.

Jamaat leader Golam Parwar said, "Our recent statements have increased the tendency to blame each other, which has given our opponents an opportunity. We must remain united as we were before."

He continued, "For petty party interests, we have made opponents of each other. Why should we say things that divide the nation? All parties must fix their commitment."

NCP chief Nahid Islam said that since the July uprising, certain individuals have been conducting various nefarious activities to undermine it.

He said, "A well-organized campaign is underway against the July uprising. This work is happening at various levels of the media and administration. Even those who come to power after the election will be victims of this. No one will be able to run the government alone."

He stated, "A narrative is being created in the media and social media regarding the July uprising that makes it seem as if those who carried out the uprising committed a crime. Various attempts are being made to normalize the Awami League and Jatiya Party. They are regularly participating in TV talk shows, holding meetings in various parts of the administration, assembling in universities, and chanting slogans in court premises."

"We don't need any special security. We will not take it. Everyone must collectively own the July uprising. We are destroying the uprising through the tug-of-war over what to call it. The conspirators are viewing our disunity as our defeat. They are doing whatever they want while sitting in India, and we can do nothing," he said.

Nahid Islam also added, "Those implementing the Awami League's objectives, disguised as intellectuals and cultural activists, must be stopped. Action must be taken on this matter."

Hasnat Abdullah said, "If we cannot remain united ourselves, no security will be useful to us. Political parties are creating various opportunities for the Awami League for their own political gain."

The Chief Adviser said, "We must think about what we can do for the future." He emphasized that not just the government, but everyone must be strong. They must be careful not to let conflict spread among themselves. Political dialogue will continue, but the culture of treating someone as an enemy or attacking them must be abandoned.

"Tension arises during elections, but we must keep in mind that it remains controlled within a certain limit," he said.

Asif Nazrul said the Awami League has grown stronger since the political parties started infighting. Appealing to the political parties to remain united, he said, "You must be aware not only of your party interests but also of the national interest."
