Dr. Zahid revealed the latest health condition of Khaleda Zia

Personal physician and BNP Standing Committee member Professor Dr. A Z M Zahid Hossain has said that although preparations are complete, Khaleda Zia’s transfer abroad for treatment is being delayed due to her current physical condition. An air ambulance is on standby around the clock, but the medical board believes that flying her at this moment may not be safe. She will be taken abroad only when the medical board decides it is appropriate.

He shared this information on Saturday (December 6) while briefing the media on Khaleda Zia’s latest health updates.

Dr. Zahid added that Khaleda Zia’s physical state itself will determine when she can be taken abroad. The highest priority is being placed on ensuring advanced medical care and security during her transfer. Members of the medical board are carefully monitoring her health, and everyone involved wishes for her recovery.

Highlighting Tarique Rahman’s involvement, he said Tarique Rahman is closely overseeing her treatment and prioritizing the doctors’ recommendations. However, considering her health condition, the transfer process is taking time. Zubaida Rahman is also participating in the medical coordination. Family members, party leaders, and all concerned are being regularly updated regarding the board’s decisions.

He also commented on rumors being spread on social media, urging, “Please do not spread misinformation or mislead the public. The medical board is very hopeful. Preparations for her transfer abroad are fully in place. She will be flown out the moment the board considers it medically safe. The Qatar government and the interim government are providing maximum support. Her treatment is receiving top priority.”

He further mentioned that the hospital authorities and staff are providing full cooperation.

Khaleda Zia has been undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka for the past 13 days. Due to complications in her stomach, she underwent an endoscopy yesterday. Although some bleeding occurred initially, it was brought under control later. A medical board consisting of both local and international specialists is monitoring her condition closely.
