How to Recognize The New Note of 500 Taka

News Desk: Bangladesh Bank will start issuing the newly designed 500 Taka note from today. The note, signed by Governor Dr. Ahsan H. Mansur, will first be issued from the central bank’s Motijheel office.

How to recognize the new 500 Taka note
The new note measures 152 mm x 65 mm and is primarily green in color. On the left side, the Shaheed Minar is depicted, while the center background features blooming water lilies (Shapla) and leaves. The opposite side shows the Supreme Court of Bangladesh. As a watermark, the note includes the Royal Bengal Tiger, along with a bright electrotype “500” and the Bangladesh Bank monogram.

Ten security features added to the new 500 Taka note
To verify authenticity, the note includes ten distinct security features:

1. The number “500” at the upper right corner is printed in optically variable ink. Tilting the note changes the color from green to blue, and a diagonal “500” can be seen inside.

2. A 4 mm twisted security thread combines red and shiny golden colors. Tilting the note changes the red part to green (showing “Taka 500”), and the golden section displays a moving rainbow-colored line.

3. The number “500” hidden in the green border design at the bottom can only be seen when viewed horizontally.

4. The see-through “500” next to the governor’s signature becomes visible when held against the light.

5. For visually impaired individuals, five raised dots are provided at the lower right corner.

6. Important features like the Shaheed Minar, bank name, diagonal lines, and Supreme Court image are printed in rough intaglio, allowing tactile verification.

7. UV-curing varnish is applied on both sides, giving the note a shiny texture and enhanced durability.

8. Under UV light, the Shapla flower glows in magenta color.

9. Red, blue, and green fibers embedded in the paper are visible under UV light.

10. Microprinting with the text “BANGLADESH BANK” is present in various locations, visible only with a magnifying lens.

The new 500 Taka note is part of Bangladesh Bank’s “Historical and Archaeological Architecture of Bangladesh” series. Previously, Bangladesh Bank issued new 1000, 100, 50, and 20 Taka notes under the same architecture series.
