US President Donald Trump said the United States has so many nuclear weapons that they could destroy the world 150 times over.

He said this in an interview on CBS News’ 60 Minutes on Sunday (November 2).

Trump claimed that China and Russia are secretly carrying out nuclear tests. He said North Korea is not the only country testing nuclear weapons; Russia and China are doing it too, but they do not speak openly about it.

This comment came a few days after he ordered the US military to start nuclear testing again after a 33-year pause.

Trump said other countries are testing while the US is not, and he does not want the US to be the only country not testing. He said nobody knows where these countries are testing their weapons.

He stressed that he does not want to use nuclear weapons, but he believes testing is needed to see how they work. He asked how anyone can know the weapons will work without testing them.

Trump said the US has an “extraordinary nuclear power,” more than any other country. He said Russia is second and China is far behind but is rapidly improving and could match the US within five years. He said the US should do something about its disarmament.

Trump repeated that the US has enough nuclear weapons to destroy the Earth 150 times. He also said Russia has many nuclear weapons and China is making big advances.
