Ceasefire Violations Persist as Israeli Strikes Target Gaza, Hindering Humanitarian Aid

International Desk: Israeli Strikes Continue in Gaza Despite US-Brokered Ceasefire

At least five people have been killed in renewed Israeli attacks in Gaza, despite a US-supported ceasefire agreement. For the fifth consecutive day, the skies and lands of Khan Yunis and northern Gaza have been shaken by air and ground strikes. In violation of the ceasefire conditions, Israel has allowed only 24% of the agreed humanitarian aid into the territory.

The Gaza government has urged the United States and other mediators to pressure Israel to allow uninterrupted humanitarian assistance into Gaza.

The ceasefire, mediated by US President Donald Trump, has proven fragile. On the fifth day, early Saturday morning (November 1), Israeli forces carried out an airstrike in Khan Yunis, resulting in multiple casualties.

Local sources report that drone attacks and shelling persisted throughout much of the day in areas adjacent to the “Yellow Line.” Gaza Civil Defense stated that continuous attacks are hindering rescue operations, which previously recovered the bodies of 22 people killed in earlier strikes on Friday.

Since the ceasefire, only an average of 145 aid trucks have entered Gaza daily, representing just 24% of the number agreed upon. From October 10 to 31, a total of 3,203 trucks entered Gaza, including 84 carrying diesel and 31 carrying cooking gas. The Gaza authorities have condemned this blockade as a humanitarian crime.

Alongside renewed attacks in the West Bank, Israeli settlers and forces have increased assaults. In the southern city of Tal, three Palestinian women were assaulted, while in Farata, east of Qalqilya, a building and a vehicle were set on fire. Reports also indicate shooting incidents during Israeli military operations in Tulkarem and Hebron. Local media describe these attacks as direct violations of the ceasefire terms.

Meanwhile, Al Jazeera reports that Gaza is facing a severe cash crisis following the ceasefire. Although banks are open, they have no funds. People are returning empty-handed even after standing in line for hours.
