Hearing on Interim Government Appeal Monitored by Nepal’s Chief Justice

News Desk: The Chief Justice of Nepal, Prakash Man Singh Raut, currently visiting Bangladesh, observed the widely discussed hearing on the caretaker government system at the Appellate Division bench of the Supreme Court.

The hearing took place today at 12:00 PM before a full seven-judge bench of the Appellate Division, led by Chief Justice Dr. Syed Refat Ahmed.

Senior lawyer Barrister Md. Ruhul Quddus Kajol represented the BNP during the appeal, while Barrister Ehsan Abdullah Siddiqui appeared as an intervener.

Before the hearing began, Chief Justice Dr. Syed Refat Ahmed expressed his gratitude to the visiting Chief Justice of Nepal, highlighting the cordial relationship between the judiciaries of Bangladesh and Nepal.

Following this, Attorney General Md. Asaduzzaman welcomed the Chief Justice of Nepal and delivered a speech in his honor.

On behalf of the Supreme Court Bar Association, President Barrister A.M. Mahbub Uddin Khokon also thanked the visiting Chief Justice.

The event was attended by judges of Nepal’s High Court, judicial officers, the Nepali Ambassador, and senior lawyers of the Bangladesh Supreme Court, along with lawyers from the Appellate Division.
