District Jubo Dal leader Nazrul Islam Jahan resigns after becoming BNP candidate

Syed Amiruzzaman, Special Correspondent: Nazrul Islam Jahan, Vice President of Moulvibazar District Jubo Dal, has resigned from his post after being nominated as a candidate for Srimangal Upazila BNP. Four other leaders of the District Jubo Dal resigned and it is learnt that all these resignation letters have been accepted from the central office of the organization.

The resignation of five top leaders of the Moulvibazar District Jubo Dal has sparked a storm of discussion in the district. Party sources said that they resigned from their posts due to their appointments and candidacies at various levels of the BNP. The matter indicates a new equation in the organizational arena of the Jubo Dal.

District Vice President Nazrul Islam Jahan, Vice President Salam Ahmed Jitu, Deputy General Secretary Mostafizur Rahman Shahin, Rural Development and Cooperative Affairs Secretary Md. Rezaul Karim Reza and Information Communication and Science Technology Affairs Secretary Ruhel Box have resigned.

Why this resignation?

The press release said that the aforementioned leaders voluntarily submitted their resignations to the central president and general secretary of the Jubo Dal as they were responsible for various positions in the BNP and were involved in the nomination process at the upazila level.

Jubo Dal Central Executive Committee President Abdul Monayem Munna and General Secretary Mohammad Nurul Islam Nayan have accepted their resignations and declared the posts vacant. This decision has already taken effect.

Political analysis

Political observers believe that this resignation is part of the party's organizational reshuffle. In many ways, this can be seen as a strategy to include experienced Jubo Dal leaders in BNP's mainstream politics. On the other hand, there has also been movement among the new aspirants of the district Jubo Dal.

A press release signed by Minhajul Islam Bhuiyan, co-editor of the Jubo Dal central office, said that the resignation has been accepted in accordance with the organization's normal procedures.
