Discussion with Journalists by Khulna’s Newly Appointed District Commissioner

Khulna Correspondent: Following his assumption of office, Khulna’s newly appointed District Commissioner Md. Taufiqur Rahman held a discussion with journalists from the district’s print and electronic media on Wednesday (3 September) afternoon in his conference room.

During the meeting, the District Commissioner emphasized that without proper planning, implementation cannot be effective. He urged identifying the root causes of any issues in Khulna, including waterlogging, and resolving them at the source.

He stated that any complaints regarding harassment in matters such as land tax payment, registration, or mutation at the Land Office would be addressed seriously. Moreover, public interest would be given the highest priority in the adoption and implementation of any plans or decisions.

Regarding the recovery of land occupied by government institutions, he said that the district administration would provide full cooperation if the concerned institutions take the initiative. He also mentioned that efforts would be made to provide information held at the District Commissioner’s office to the media more quickly and efficiently.

Addressing the journalists, the District Commissioner said he intends to act as a collaborator rather than a guardian in his role as the District Commissioner of Khulna.

The meeting was attended by Additional District Commissioner (General) Bitan Kumar Mondal, Khulna Press Club Convener Enamul Haque, Member Secretary Rafiul Islam Tutul, senior journalist Sheikh Didarul Alam, and other representatives from various print and electronic media outlets.
