Kurigram Representative: Two and a half crore fines have been collected in Kurigram for implementation of Road Transport Act 2018 in one year. On Tuesday (March 12), Kurigram Traffic Office said that 8 thousand 480 cases have been given to various vehicles in Kurigram in the last 1 year. Out of this 8 thousand 350 cases have been settled. A fine of Tk 2 crore 51 lakh has been imposed in these cases.
Traffic Inspector Baniul Anam said, under the direction of the Superintendent of Police, we are ensuring that vehicles without helmets, without driving licenses and without fitness cannot run on the road in order to implement the Road Transport Act 2018. Traffic department has conducted about 105 public awareness meetings to increase awareness among people.
Superintendent of Police Al Asad Md. Mahfuzul Islam said that we have organized awareness meetings on road transport law 2018 with owners, labor unions, professional motorists, school and college students and pedestrians at various times. We are working to ensure that vehicles without helmets, driving licenses and fitness do not run on the road.
