Kurigram Correspondent: The Department of Consumer Rights has imposed a fine of Tk 21,000 on raiding two private clinics, a diagnostic center and a medicine pharmacy in Chilmari, Kurigram, for conducting 'B' grade tests with 'C' grade licences.
On Tuesday (March 5) afternoon, Chilmari Clinic and Diagnostic Center, Jannat Diagnostic Center, Sara Hospital and a medicine shop in College Road were raided in LSDmore area and fined a total of 21,000 taka. Assistant Director of Kurigram Consumer Rights Protection Department ASM Masum Ud Daula conducted the mobile court and imposed these fines.
He issued these fines and cautionary instructions due to various irregularities, including the fact that a doctor was supposed to be on duty 24 hours a day in the clinics.
According to the Consumer Rights Protection Department, the clinic has two C grade licenses but is conducting various tests as B grade, which is completely illegal. Moreover, due to the fact that the board regarding various examination fees was not found, Chilmari Clinic and Diagnostic Center was fined Tk 10,000, Jannat Diagnostic Center Tk 3,000, Sara Hospital Tk 5,000 and Chilmari Pharmacy Tk 3,000 in total Tk 21,000.
