Kaliakor, Gazipur Correspondent: BNP National Executive Committee Co-Labor Affairs Secretary Humayun Kabir Khan has been sent to jail by the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court of Gazipur denying bail in a case of Kaliakor police station. On Wednesday (March 6) noon, when the District Chief Judicial Magistrate surrendered to the High Court, the court denied him bail and ordered him to be sent to jail. The central leader of BNP was earlier on six-week interim bail from the High Court in this case.

According to district BNP sources, during the movement of BNP and like-minded parties demanding free and fair elections with the participation of all parties under the neutral caretaker government by canceling the schedule of the 12th national elections, the police filed a case in Kaliakair police station of Gazipur in October last year. Humayun Kabir Khan and several BNP leaders and activists were accused in this. Other accused in this case are on bail. Previously, Humayun Kabir Khan was imprisoned for six months in another political case.

Kaliakair Upazila BNP President VP Helal Uddin said that there was anticipatory bail in the High Court. Later this morning Humayun Kabir Khan went to court and was denied bail and sent to jail. BNP leaders of Gazipur district have strongly condemned the jailing of central leader Humayun Kabir Khan and demanded his selfless release.
