Teenager Commits Suicide after 3 days of Losing Van in Faridpur

Faridpur Correspondent: Three days after he lost his van to robbers in Faridpur, a teenager died in grief. The police recovered the hanging body of Morchalin Mia (14) from his house on Wednesday evening.

This tragic incident took place in Makrampatri village of Gharua Union of Bhanga Upazila. The poor van driver Kishore is the son of Munir Mia of that village.

According to the villagers, Morchalin, a poor van driver used to run the family by driving the van. On March 3rd Sunday morning, Morchalin left home with a van. Later that evening, he lost the van to robbers. After losing the van, Morchalin came home and was scolded by the family members. Grief over the loss of the van along with listening to family members nagging, he stopped eating and drinking. In grief, pain and shame, on Wednesday afternoon, he hanged himself with a rope on the roof of his house. Later the family members saw his hanging body and informed the police and the police recovered the body and brought it to the police station.

In this regard, Faridpur's Bhanga police station sub-inspector Shaukat Hossain said, we recovered the body after receiving information about the suicide of the teenager. Later, the body was handed over to the family for burial without a post-mortem as local dignitaries and the family had no objection.
