An old man was killed in an attack by opponents in Magura

Ali Ashraf, Magura: A man named Atar Lashkar, who was seriously injured in an attack by his opponents in Urura village of Mohammadpur upazila of Magura, died in the early hours of Monday (September 5) while undergoing treatment. Earlier on Sunday (September 4) in Kanutia market of Binodpur union of the upazila, Atar Lashkar was hacked and injured in broad daylight. Residents said that the deceased Atar Lashkar was the son of deceased Jadan Lashkar of Urura village in Binodpur Union. Eyewitnesses said that at around 4:30 pm, Atar Lashkar was doing market at Kanutiya market near the house along with two villagers. At that time, a group of miscreants attacked them with weapons. The miscreants hacked and injured two people including Atar Lashkar. Later, when local people came forward, the attackers fled from there. Local people rescued him with serious injuries and sent him to Magura Sadar Hospital. Later, Atar Lashkar died on the way to Dhaka Hospital for better treatment. Ujjal Lashkar, the eldest son of the deceased Atar Lashkar, said, "There was an extreme conflict over the member candidate in the last UP election. As a result of this a trivial incident broke out between two parties in the village last Saturday. Due to that clash, my father was hacked to death by the opponents. I want justice for those involved in this murder. Magura District Police Additional Superintendent of Police. Kalimullah said, "Primarily, it is believed that the murder was done due to previous enmity. The matter is being investigated. Arrangements have been made to treat the injured. The body of the deceased was recovered and sent to Magura Sadar Hospital morgue for post-mortem. The family of the deceased said that they will file a case. If there is a case, necessary legal action will be taken.
