International Desk: A Kolkata-bound bus has met with an accident in Jajpur, Odisha, India. The bus fell from the local barbati bridge on Monday night. 5 people including a woman were killed. More than 30 people were injured in this incident. According to the police, the driver of the bus fell from the bridge when he lost control at around 9 pm local time yesterday. The police also said that efforts are on to pick up the bus due to the accident.

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has announced compensation of 3 lakh rupees to the families of those who died in the accident. News by NDTV. After getting information about the accident, a team of police and fire brigade reached the Barbati Bridge and started the rescue operation. The injured were sent to the local Dharamshala Hospital in 10 ambulances. The seriously injured have been sent to SCB Medical College Hospital, Cuttack.
