Views-exchange meeting held between rural physicians and Upazila Health Officer in Satkania

Satkania (Chattogram) Correspondent: A view-exchange meeting was held in Satkania, Chattogram, between local rural medical practitioners and the Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer.

​The meeting took place on Tuesday (August 11) at 11:00 AM, with Dr. Amit Dey, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer of Satkania, attending as the chief guest.

​At the beginning of the meeting, the rural practitioners welcomed Dr. Amit Dey with flowers. Detailed discussions followed regarding primary healthcare delivery at the local level, providing proper advice to patients, improving the quality of medical services, and addressing the various challenges and opportunities faced by rural doctors.

​During the session, rural practitioners shared their experiences, issues, and prospects regarding healthcare delivery at the grassroots level. The vital role played by rural doctors in bringing primary healthcare to people's doorsteps was also strongly emphasized.

​Among those present were Bidhan Dhar, President of the Rural Medical Practitioners Association; General Secretary Abdur Rahim; and rural practitioners Biplob Palit, Abu Yuchup Iqbal, Ujjal Das Gupta, Mohammad Yuchup, M. A. Hossain Junu, Khokon Nath, and Nayan Nath.

​During the event, Dr. Amit Dey provided operational guidelines to the rural practitioners. He urged them to deliver appropriate medical guidance based on patient needs and to promptly refer critical or complex cases to the Upazila Health Complex or relevant specialists.

​He stated that strengthening coordination and communication between rural doctors and the upazila health department is essential for improving healthcare quality at the local level.

​The meeting emphasized enhancing mutual communication, cooperation, and synergy between rural practitioners and the upazila health administration. Stakeholders expressed confidence that such interactions would improve local healthcare standards and benefit the general public.
