Three Killed in Separate Road Accidents in Faridpur

Faridpur Correspondent: Three people, including a woman, were killed in three separate road accidents in Faridpur Sadar and Madhukhali upazilas on Monday.

One of the accidents occurred at Kanaipur on the Dhaka–Khulna Highway, where a motorcycle carrying three passengers collided with an electric three-wheeler (easy bike). The impact threw the riders onto the road, and a speeding bus subsequently struck them, killing Suad on the spot and injuring the other two. The injured were taken to Faridpur Medical College Hospital for treatment. Suad was the son of Md. Mizanur Rahman of Hat Gobindapur in Faridpur Sadar.

Earlier in the day, Anwar Hossain (60) sustained critical injuries after being hit by a battery-powered auto-rickshaw in front of the Faridpur Medical Institute main gate. He was admitted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital, where he later died. Anwar was the son of the late Jabbar Mia from Chandra village under Kamargram Post Office in Alfadanga Upazila.

In a separate incident in Madhukhali Upazila, Amena Begum (70) was killed after being struck by a motorcycle while crossing the Dhaka–Khulna Highway in the Majhkandi area on Monday afternoon. She was thrown onto the road by the impact and died at the scene. Amena Begum was the wife of the late Elahi Sheikh of Mashkandi village.

Karimpur Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Zahir Hossain said police reached the accident sites, prepared the inquest reports, and handed over the bodies to the victims' families after completing the necessary legal formalities.
