EU Ambassador Michael Miller Marks 600th Day in Bangladesh, Reaffirms Strong Partnership

Diplomatic Correspondent: European Union Ambassador and Head of Delegation to Bangladesh, Michael Miller, marked his 600th day in the country by reflecting on his diplomatic journey and the growing relationship between the European Union and Bangladesh. In a special message, Ambassador Miller praised Bangladesh for its remarkable development, resilience, and dynamic economic transformation.

‎He noted that during his time in Bangladesh, he had the opportunity to witness the country’s rapid progress in infrastructure, trade, innovation, and social development. Ambassador Miller also commended the warmth and hospitality of the Bangladeshi people, describing his experience in the country as both rewarding and memorable.

‎The ambassador reaffirmed the European Union’s continued commitment to strengthening cooperation with Bangladesh across a wide range of sectors, including trade, investment, climate change, renewable energy, education, governance, labour rights, and sustainable development. He emphasized that Bangladesh remains an important partner for the European Union in South Asia.

‎Highlighting the strong economic ties between the two sides, Ambassador Miller said the EU continues to be one of Bangladesh’s largest export destinations and a key development partner. He also expressed confidence that relations would grow even stronger as Bangladesh advances toward its future development goals and prepares for graduation from Least Developed Country status.

‎Ambassador Miller concluded by expressing optimism for the future, stating that the European Union looks forward to expanding its partnership with Bangladesh and working together for shared prosperity, stability, and sustainability.
