Faridpur Correspondent: A fair price market has been launched in Faridpur to keep commodity prices stable. Faridpur Deputy Commissioner Md. Kamrul Islam Mollah inaugurated the market on Hasibul Hasan Lavlu Road in the city at 12 noon on Sunday.
Faridpur Superintendent of Police Abdul Jalil and District Animal Resources Officer Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Biswas were present during the inauguration of this market, initiated by the Faridpur District Administration in collaboration with the District Animal Resources Department.
During the inauguration, Faridpur Deputy Commissioner Md. Kamrul Islam Molla said that this arrangement will continue throughout the month so that people can buy goods at fair prices during Ramadan. Fair price markets have been organized not only in the district but also in all upazilas.
He also said that buyers and sellers of goods in this market will not have to pay any toll. The District Commissioner believes that ordinary consumers will benefit from organizing this market.
Meanwhile, farmers and entrepreneurs who participated in selling their products at this market claim that the market has already received a response from the people. The crowd of buyers was overwhelming.
Village Milk Limited owner Moosa Parveen Akhter said that beef is being sold at Tk 680 per kg, milk at Tk 75, and egg whites at Tk 40. The prices of other products are also low.
Meanwhile, consumers, happy to get fresh vegetables and various products at fair prices, said that not only are the prices slightly lower than in the market, but they are also able to purchase their favorite products without any hassle.
