Yesterday, Wednesday, while visiting different areas of Thakurgaon Sadar Upazila, flowers and flowers were seen from the base to the top of the branches of the Sajina tree. At this time, the leaves of the Sajina tree are starting to fall. Therefore, everyone is fascinated by the beauty of the white flowers in bunches on the leafless branches. According to the Upazila Agriculture Department, there are about 20,000 Sajina trees in the courtyards of houses in 22 unions and 1 municipality of the upazila, on the roadsides, on the sides and in the aisles of waste land. Almost every house has at least 1/2 Sajina trees. These trees have grown without care. The trees also yield well. Every year, branches or stalks of Sajina are planted. However, about 30 percent of the planted stalks die. There are 2 varieties of Sajina in this upazila, one is Halo Signal and the other is Baromasi Sajina. The flowers of the sajina tree start appearing from the end of January. And the sajina tree flowers several times a year. However, not all the flowers produce fruit.

According to the agricultural office sources, 5,000 sajina trees were planted in the upazila last year. Out of these, 3,000 have grown into trees. This year too, sajina will be planted after the sajina season ends. Sajina cultivation is going well in all types of soil in this upazila. Sajina is very valuable as a vegetable full of high nutritional and nutritional value and is called a super food. Apart from eating sajina and its leaves, the roots and bark of the plant are also widely used as herbal medicine. Due to the high demand for sajina and its high price, farmers in the upazila are now profiting by planting sajina trees in a planned manner on fallow land. Many are showing interest in cultivating sajina commercially due to the high price. An upazila official and agriculturist source said that this cold-hot, drought-tolerant tree grows everywhere in Bangladesh. This year, sajina trees have bloomed profusely.
