The technology, developed by Australian researchers, uses special organic glue and a 3D printing pen-like device, called a biopen. A special gel is applied to the broken bone through this device. Then, when ultraviolet rays or special light are applied, the glue quickly hardens to form a strong bone-like structure.

According to the researchers, using this method, broken bones can heal faster and will reduce long-term dependence on plaster or metal appliances. Especially during surgery, doctors can apply it directly to the affected area to fix the bone more precisely.

At present, the use of plaster, metal plates or screws is common in the treatment of bone fractures. However, experts believe that this new technology can bring major changes in medicine.
