A shining star of Gopalpur’s educational sphere, Professor Banitosh Chakraborty, former faculty member of Gopalpur Government College and a distinguished educationist, has passed away.

He breathed his last on Sunday, October 5, at 3:30 PM at his residence in the Dubail area of Gopalpur municipality.

Professor Chakraborty served as the former acting principal of Gopalpur Government College, the founding principal of Kalihati Shahjahan Siraj College, and the president of Sujon – Citizens for Good Governance (Gopalpur Upazila Committee). His contributions to education, social service, and culture will remain forever cherished by the people of Gopalpur.

The educational community and general public of Gopalpur have expressed deep grief over his passing. In a condolence message, Sujon – Citizens for Good Governance, Gopalpur Upazila Committee, stated:

“Professor Banitosh Chakraborty was a source of inspiration for thousands of teachers in Gopalpur. With his passing, we have lost a luminous personality. On this World Teachers’ Day, October 5, the departure of this eminent educator has brought sorrow to the entire educational community. We pray for his eternal peace and extend our heartfelt condolences to his bereaved family.”
