Narail's Lohagara Upazila Nirbahi Officer transferred, leaving the station in the middle of the night

Narail Correspondent: Animesh Biswas, Lohagara Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Narail has been transferred. He has been transferred as Additional Deputy Commissioner of Barguna district from Lohagarh UNO by an order of the Secretary, Ministry of Public Administration.

On Monday (March 18) after receiving permission from Narail Deputy Commissioner, Animesh Biswas left the station with his family in a government car from Lohagara that night.

According to the sources, this transfer took place due to the publication of news on various social media including RisingBD under the title of extortion of 10 lakh taka and detention of bodyguards under the threat of leaking the obscene video of UNO Animesh Biswas of Lohagarh.

On February 17, an anonymous person called the mobile number used by the Lohagara Upazila Nirbahi officer on WhatsApp and said that they have an obscene adult video. They fear that the video will be made viral on social media if they do not pay 10 lakhs for this. In this way, several times anonymous extortionists threatened to kill the Upazila Nirbahi officer and his wife if they did not pay the demanded money and told anyone about it. In fear, UNO's wife Bipasha Biswas gave 10 lakh taka to the bank account of the threat at various times. At that time, UNO's bodyguard Ansar member Akash Biswas said that money can be sent to that account quickly from Dutch Bangla Bank's booth. Bipasha is suspicious of Akash at these words. Later, when the extortionists demanded another 3 lakh taka, the UNO's wife filed a case on March 12, citing Akash as the plaintiff. Lohagarh police arrested Akash Biswas and sent him to jail.
