A man has been arrested for allegedly trying to rape a widow in Ulipur

Kurigram Correspondent: An allegation of attempted rape of a widowed woman has been made in Ulipur of Kurigram. In this incident, the woman filed a complaint at the police station and arrested a person named Mukul Hossain (40).

The incident happened in Pandul area of ​​the upazila. The arrested person was sent to jail on Monday (March 18) afternoon by the court.

According to the source of the case, the husband of the woman (35) of Pandul Union area of ​​the upazila died four and a half years ago. Since then, the widow was struggling to make ends meet with her two children. Taking advantage of her helplessness, the widow Mukul Hossain, son of Muhammad Ali, was collecting the mobile number of the woman and making love proposals along with bad proposals. When the woman informed Mukul's family, he became even more angry. Since then, Mukul kept looking for opportunities to harm the woman. At one point, on February 22 afternoon, Mukul found the woman alone at her house and tried to rape her. At that time, Mukul ran away when the neighbors came forward due to his screams. Then on Sunday (March 17) night, Mukul was charged under the Suppression of Women and Children Act in the police station. After the case, police raided and arrested Mukul in the night.

Ulipur police station officer-in-charge (OC) Golam Mortuza said, Mukul has been arrested on charges of attempted rape of a widow. He was sent to jail on Monday (March 18) afternoon by the court.
