Kurigram Correspondent: Police arrested a drug dealer named Abdul Latif Mia (21) while trying to cross the Teesta river with 3 kg 800 grams of ganja in Ulipur of Kurigram. Latif is the son of Mojidul Islam of Miapara village of Shimulbari union of Fulbari upazila.
It is known that on Sunday afternoon, the Ulipur police station received the information of drug trafficking by crossing Teesta river through Bajra boat wharf of Bajra union. Later police arrested drug dealer Abdul Latif Miah from Char Satalskar. Meanwhile, 3 kg 800 grams of ganja was recovered from a potla wrapped with red plastic and white tape inside a school bag with him.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Ulipur police station Golam Mortuza said on Monday (March 18) afternoon that the arrested drug dealer has been booked under the Narcotics Control Act and sent to jail.
