Celebrating Bangabandhu's birth anniversary and National Children's Day with humble respect at Tangail

Tangail Representative: Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's birth anniversary and National Children's Day 2024 were celebrated in Tangail with due dignity.

On the occasion of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's birth anniversary and National Children's Day 2024 on March 17, tributes, processions, discussions and award distribution were held.

In the morning of Sunday, March 17, placing wreaths at the portraits of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Bangmata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib in front of the Tangail District Commissioner's office, placing wreaths at Sheikh Russell's mural adjacent to Circuit House and offering prayers at the portraits of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Shaheed Smriti Municipal Park.

Deputy Commissioner Md Kaycharul Islam laid wreath on behalf of the state.

Besides, people from different classes and professions including district police, Muktijoddha Sangsad, local members of parliament, district Awami League, local public representatives, public and private departments offered wreaths.

After the wreath laying, the colorful procession left Tangail Shaheed Smriti Municipal Park and circled the various roads of the city and came back to Shaheed Smriti Municipal Park and held a discussion meeting.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Hasan bin Muhammad Ali gave a welcome address in the discussion meeting under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Md Kaycharul Islam. Superintendent of Police Sarkar Mohammad Qaiser, Mayor of Tangail Municipality SM Sirajul Haque Alamgir, Vice President of District Awami League Khandaker Ashrafuzzaman Smriti, Chairman of Sadar Upazila Parishad Shajahan Anshari, Hero Freedom Fighter Md. Fazlul Haque Bir Prateek (former district commander) were the special guests. And Tangail Press Club President Advocate Zafar Ahmed. At the end of the discussion meeting, the prizes of various competitions were distributed among the children on the occasion of the day.
