Awami League leader died after being hit by a truck in Chatmohar

Pabna Correspondent: A local Awami League leader named Shamsul Alam (60) was hit by a truck at Chatmohar in Pabna. The accident took place on Sunday (March 17) around four o'clock in the afternoon in Bhadra area of ​​Chatmohar-Pabna road. The deceased is the son of Hanef Ali of Ankutia village in Mathurapur union of Shamsul upazila. He was the General Secretary of Mathurapur Union Ward No. 1 Awami League.

1st ward UP member Nurul Islam said that Shamsul Alam was returning home from Chatmohar on a motorcycle. On the way, when he reached Bhadra area, a speeding truck coming from the opposite direction lost control and hit Shamsul Alam. The motorcyclist Shamsul was seriously injured in different parts of his head and body.

Locals rescued him and took him to Upazila Health Complex. As the condition deteriorated there, he was taken to Pabna General Hospital where the doctor on duty declared Shamsul Alam dead. Meanwhile, after the accident, the locals arrested the truck at the spot, but the driver escaped. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chatmohar police station.

Salim Reza confirmed the truth of the accident and said that the police were sent to the spot after receiving information. The driver escaped but the truck was taken into police custody. Legal action will be taken if a complaint is received from the family of the deceased.
