Brother dies after being hit by a covered van on his way to his younger sister's house in Sreepur

Sreepur representative: As the elder brother's family is in need, the younger sister informs the brother to take the markets. Vegetable trader brother Dulal Hossain (50) was killed when a covered van ran over him on his way to collect the market from his younger sister.

On Friday (March 15) at noon, the businessman died after being hit by a covered van at Mauna Palli Vidyut intersection of Sripur Upazila on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway. Mauna Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Mahbub Morshed confirmed the accident.

The deceased vegetable trader Dulal Hossain is the son of late Hossain Ali of Modalipara village in Dinajpur. He used to earn his living by selling vegetables at Mauna Chowrasta in Sreepur. Younger sister Anwara Begum said that her brother Dulal Hossain used to earn his living by selling vegetables at Mauna Chowrasta. In the morning I buy an electric fan, a bag of rice and dal for my brother and tell him to come home and take the market. On the way to my home, while crossing the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway, a speeding covered van running to Dhaka hit him and he died on the spot due to excessive bleeding.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mauna Highway Police Station Mohammad Mahbub Morshed said vegetable trader Dulal Hossain died when a covered van hit him while crossing the highway. With the help of locals, the killers intercepted the covered van, but the driver escaped. Further action will be taken based on the complaint of the relatives of the deceased.
