Stone pelting driver injured in Ishwarganj moving train

Ishwarganj Representative: There was an incident of stone pelting on the driver of Chittagong-bound Vijay Express train leaving from Jamalpur. Train driver Atiqul Islam (42) was seriously injured. The train was stuck at the Ishwarganj railway station platform for about 2 hours. It is known that miscreants threw stones at the Gouripur-Ishwarganj border area on the moving train on Wednesday night.

The train driver was seriously injured by the stones thrown by miscreants. In a bloody state, he stopped the train at Ishwarganj station at 11:20 pm. Later the people in the train were taken to Ishwarganj Upazila Health Complex. He was seriously injured and was sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital after first aid.

Meanwhile, passengers suffered as the train got stuck on the platform of Ishwarganj railway station. As Ishwarganj station was closed recently due to manpower shortage, there was no responsible person in the station.

About 2 hours later, the driver Mohammad Hanif came from Mymensingh and started the journey towards Chittagong with the train. Assistant Locomaster of Vijay Express Train A. Halim said. A train driver was seriously injured when miscreants threw stones at Gouripur-Ishwarganj border area. Later the train was stopped at Ishwarganj station and the driver was taken to Upazila Health Complex. He also said that due to the impact of stones thrown by miscreants, the windows of seats 1-2 of D compartment were broken, but fortunately no one was injured.
