Awami League leader's body recovered three days after he went missing

Gaibandha Corespondent: Police recovered the body of Awami League leader's son Shafiqur Rahman Pavel Akander from a septic tank three days after he went missing in Gaibandha.

The body was recovered from the septic tank of an abandoned house in Raghunathpur village of Ballamjhar union of Gaibandha Sadar upazila on Tuesday (March 12) morning. Dead Pavel Akand Ballamjhar Union Awami League President and retired head teacher. Abdus Samad is Akand's younger son. According to the police, Pavel Akand went missing after leaving his house in Raghunathpur village of Ballamjhar Union on Saturday (March 9) evening. Belal Yusuf Russell, elder brother of the missing Pavel Akand filed a general diary in Gaibandha Sadar police station on Sunday. Locals informed the police after finding the dead body of Pavel Akander in the septic tank of the abandoned house of Sirajul Islam of Raghunathpur village of Ballamjhar Union on Tuesday morning. Later, the police recovered the body from the spot.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gaibandha Sadar Police Station. Masud Rana confirmed the matter and said that the body of missing Pavel Akande has been recovered. Sent to Gaibandha Sadar Modern Hospital for post-mortem. Efforts are underway to identify and arrest those involved in the incident.
